Two Paintings at the De Saisset Museum
I worked with a team of artists to create paintings of endangered animals in response to Kara Maria’s exhibition, "Precious and Precarious: Life on the Edge of Extinction." Our work was exhibited at the de Saisset Museum throughout the spring of 2022, aiming to raise awareness about the urgent need for conservation efforts.

I painted a Poison Dart Frog and a Karner Blue Butterfly, both on the endangered species list at the time of creation. Utilizing high-contrast colors and realistic highlights, each stroke aimed to capture the creatures’ intricate beauty and vulnerability.
Another team of artists collaborated to create abstract backgrounds reminiscent of Kara Maria’s distinctive style. This multi-media approach enhanced the visual impact of our installation, blending realism with abstract expressionism to evoke a deeper emotional resonance with viewers.
